[ She wasn't dancing earlier, was thinking of dancing later — she feels awful for even trying to lie, despite owning up to it almost immediately after her attempt. It doesn't make his thoughts ring any less true though, because she did practice into the hours into the night on most days, so concentrated on others that when she came to, it would already be morning.
Another day he would have been correct, spot on, but today was not another day. ]
I've been worried about you, you know.
[ It's said honestly, without stutters, without impediments. She just wouldn't allow herself to believe in the misconception that smiling meant that the other person was completely okay. Okay okay maybe, as in for the moment, but not completely. ]

[ Ah. His tired smile faltered for a moment at that statement. Of course she would. She's his mother, even if she's younger than the age she was when she gave birth to him. She's always been concerned for both him and her husband, and even if she tends to stutter her way through her sentences (he did too, he's just better at hiding it), he can't deny that her kindness is no match compared to the others in the camp.
Even if that same kindness hides a tempered steel that could cut through any of her foes without doubt on the battlefield if the need arises. ]
And what makes you think that?
[ Another sip, as he tries to stare at her in the eyes, to convince her that yes, he's alright and not really thinking of what he's going to do once this is all over. Whether he'll leave her and father behind with his friends or if he'd stay with them.
He's still not sure of that, you see. ]

[ She threads her hands behind her back, trying her best not to fidget in her spot. Her words are already soft as was, but that went especially so in their current situation. ]
That's why, if you tell me that you're all right once more, I'll believe in you. [ Olivia turns, to meet his gaze. ] Will you grant me this selfish request? … You're just as important to me as your father, which is why I must be certain.

What? NO. He isn't attracted to his mother like that. It's just that it's kind of hard to lie when she stares at him the way she's doing right now, even as a child.
It worked way too well, and maybe that's why he's more afraid of soft women that hid a tempered steel beneath their kindness compared to those who are brash on the outside. ]
...I've been thinking, lately.
[ The conversation he had in the hot springs outrealm with Robin, for one. He knows that the man will welcome him whenever he has the inclination to visit, and of course, his own mother will say the same thing should he confront her about it. ]
About a lot of things.
[ But it doesn't feel right, the Inigo of this world has not even been born yet, and what if people started questioning about his resemblance when the kid has grown up? He didn't want to put unnecessary pressure to his family because of this. As much as he loved both his father and mother, he had to consider their unborn's child's life too.
Man, the other guys might smack his head for overthinking it, but he can't help it. For as cheerful as Inigo tends to look outside, he's a worrywart first and foremost. ]

That's a start.
[ She mumbles, her words barely escaping getting carried away by the breeze — it's true that she had never been a very consistent person; that's why, despite her soft tones and appearance, her words manage to be supportive at the same time.
Setting down a ring beside her (they're sharp, wouldn't want an accident), she lifts a hand to rest against his back — gently rubbing circles through the cloth. It's a little mysterious, how she was barely older than him yet continued to feel the way she did — motherly, almost. It was no secret that she took pride in helping others where she could, but it was different and somehow, it made her feel like she understood what Chrom and Robin meant by unbreakable bonds more than ever. ]
…and whenever you want to stop, you can. … Hee hee, there are a lot of things we need to talk about, to catch up on all the lost time.

Yeah, there probably are a lot of things that happened, hm? Why don't you start, then.
[ Since it's rare enough that his mother's the one showing initiative in this conversation, after all. ]

E-Eh? [ Unfortunately, if he didn't notice her shock there (not that she hadn't been as subtle as a brick) — it's clearly evident through her tone. ] My life's awfully boring, um.
[ …but she had initiated the heart to heart, so the least she could do was follow up. ] …what do you want to know?

[ Even if she's not really a part of it right now, he'd still insist on that fact okay. Still, he knows how awkward she immediately got about it, but bless her for trying, really. ]
Well, for all the talk about our dancing, I don't think you've ever told me how you started.
